Bakers Volunteer Fire Department had outgrown its existing facility, and changing demographics led the team to a new location to better serve the area. They selected Bobbitt to design and construct the new facility on Old Charlotte Highway.
The new station is fully sprinklered and has four drive-thru bays. The roadside bay doors are bi-fold doors, which improve response time and reduce maintenance costs. In addition, the station includes dorm rooms, fitness area, day room, a large eat-in kitchen and a state of the art training room.
The department worked closely with Bobbitt to design and build an attractive station that met their needs well into the future while coming in under budget.
