Exciting changes are coming to South Asheboro Middle School! On Thursday, February 13, 2025, we officially broke ground on a transformative renovation project that will modernize the campus and enhance learning opportunities for students.

This project is made possible through a $29.7 million capital improvement grant from the NCDPI’s Needs-Based Public School Capital Fund, with support from our state legislature, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and the Randolph County Commissioners. This investment reflects a strong commitment to the future of education in Randolph County.

Originally built in 1962, South Asheboro Middle School will undergo key upgrades, including:

✔ Expanded Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities and career-focused training.
✔ Improved ADA accessibility, including the addition of a new elevator, ensuring an inclusive environment for all students.
✔ Modernized HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to create a more efficient and comfortable school setting.
✔ Increased cafeteria seating to better accommodate the student body.
✔ Enhanced safety measures to provide a secure learning environment.
