The construction of Columbia Smiles’ second high-end dental practice represents Bobbitt’s dedication to creating a space for the client’s needs while maintaining downtown Columbia’s Historic Keenan building history.
Because of the 1310 Lady Street building’s historic nature, Bobbitt accommodated to a few challenges such as working around the existing floor layout. The architectural team refinished the hardwood and mosaic tile to leave the historic touch while adding features such as trey ceilings and LED lighting to give the space a fresh look.
The windows bring an abundance of sunlight into the office and provides an amazing view of the city. Staying true to the 1930’s style, the original wood installed was kept and accented with bulkheads trimmed with wood. The office was finished off with adding state-of-the-art equipment to be sure that the staff was working with the finest equipment.
Practice owner, Dr. Nick Pournaras, discussed his desire to start a second location for nearly five years with Bobbitt. The pair are both members of the Columbia Executives and Owners Association. When Pournaras started to move forward with plans for the new office location, he came to Bobbitt to help guide him through the architectural, permitting and construction process.
