Through a proven design-build method, Bobbitt delivered a 13,000-square-foot office for Mead & Hunt – a national architectural and engineering firm serving numerous markets including transportation, aviation, water, education, state and local government, federal and military. The office, located at 878 South Lake Drive in Lexington, South Carolina, utilized the aesthetics and layout established for their corporate office in Middleton, Wisconsin office, serving as the example for future offices across the country.
Mead & Hunt saw tremendous growth throughout the nation over the past several decades including the Lexington area, which prompted a need for a larger Lexington facility that would meet current requirements and provide capacity for future growth. Inviting developers to bid on the project, the company selected Columbia developer A.L. Saad and Bobbitt, based on quality and experience.
The Bobbitt team designed the office exterior with a combination of brick, ribbon windows, and ALUCOBOND® composite metal panels an create a modern exterior façade. The interior features floating cloud ceilings, LED lighting, an open office concept to create a contemporary vibe. The building also includes exposed building systems such as structural frame, ductwork, plumbing and electrical conduit.
