Fuquay-Varina Fire Station 4 Named Top State/County/Municipal Project at TBJ SPACE Awards

Bobbitt, the Town of Fuquay-Varina, and the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department were honored at the 2025 Triangle Business Journal’s SPACE Awards, where Fuquay-Varina Fire Station 4 was recognized as the Top State/County/Municipal Project.

This award highlights the collaboration and dedication that went into creating a modern, efficient fire station to serve the growing Fuquay-Varina community. Designed and built with the needs of first responders in mind, Fire Station No. 4 enhances emergency response capabilities while providing a top-tier facility for the department.

Fuquay-Varina Fire Station 4

The new 18,650 sqft station houses the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department and Wake County EMS. Fire Station 4 is designed to meet the current needs of the community, anticipate future growth, prioritize firefighter safety and honor the history of the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department.

Fire Station 4 is a model for firefighter health and safety. The separate decontamination building helps keep harmful cancer-causing products of combustion from entering the main building. Here, equipment and gear will be cleaned, and firefighters will shower and change clothes after returning from a fire.

Additionally, the facility features the Tony Mauldin History Room, a tribute to the town’s former Chief, who served for 22 years. The centerpiece is the fully restored 1945 Mack Truck, the first new fire truck bought by the Town of Fuquay-Varina.
